Selling

Using the POS

Learn how to use Retailos POS to process in-store sales, apply discounts, accept payments, and sell offline.

Retailos POS gives you a fast, reliable way to complete in-store sales — even when your internet goes down.

How it works

Open the POS from app/pos. Everything you need for a sale is on one screen.

Finding products

  1. Browse the product grid, use the search bar, or scan a barcode to add items to the cart.
  2. Tap any cart line to adjust quantity or remove an item.

Attaching a customer

  1. Before checkout, attach a customer to the order. This links the sale to their purchase history and lets you apply or earn store credit.

Applying discounts

  1. Apply a line-level discount on any individual item, or a cart-level discount on the whole order. You can use both on the same sale.

Store credit

  1. If the attached customer has store credit, you can apply it at checkout to reduce the amount due.

Taking payment

  1. Choose one or more payment methods: Cash, Card, or UPI. You can split a single order across methods — for example, part UPI and part cash.
  2. Confirm the amounts and complete the transaction.

Receipt

  1. Print a receipt immediately after the sale completes.

Offline selling

The POS works without an internet connection. When you go offline:

  • Sales are queued locally on your device.
  • The queue syncs automatically with Retailos as soon as your connection is restored.
  • Continue selling through any outage without losing data.

Good to know

  • Shopify sync: Retailos syncs product and inventory data two-way with Shopify only. If you manage products in Shopify, they will reflect in your POS after a sync.
  • Split payments: You can combine any payment methods on a single order — useful for partial cash + UPI situations common in Indian retail.
  • Store credit at checkout: Store credit is only available when a customer is attached to the cart. Attach the customer before you reach the payment step.
  • Offline limitations: Some actions that depend on live data — such as verifying real-time inventory across locations — may not be available while offline. Complete these checks once you reconnect.

Troubleshooting

Products are missing from the grid Check that the products are active and synced from Shopify. Retailos reads product data from Shopify only — updates made in other tools will not appear.

Offline sales did not sync after reconnecting Confirm your device has a stable connection, then wait a moment for the queue to process. Avoid closing the app immediately after reconnecting.

Store credit option is not showing at checkout Make sure you have attached a customer to the order before reaching the payment screen. Store credit cannot be applied without a customer on the sale.
