Questions, answered.
Everything about how Retail Commerce OS works, what it replaces, and how your data stays safe.
Product
No. Shopify stays your storefront. Retail Commerce OS is the consolidated back-office — POS, inventory, orders, marketing, loyalty, support and more — that syncs two-way with Shopify. We replace the pile of apps bolted onto Shopify, not Shopify itself.
No — they are unrelated products. osCommerce is an open-source PHP shopping cart first released in 2000. Retail Commerce OS is a commerce-operations platform built in 2026 for Indian retail and D2C businesses. They also solve opposite ends of the problem: osCommerce runs a storefront, while Retail Commerce OS runs the back-office behind one — POS, GST billing, inventory, orders, WhatsApp, marketing and support — syncing two-way with the storefront you already use, such as Shopify.
Two-way sync of products, orders, inventory and customers, with drift reconciliation and webhook health monitoring so the two systems never silently disagree.
Yes — multi-store is native. Starter is single-store, the Growth plan supports 3 locations, and Pro and Enterprise are unlimited, all from one workspace.
Yes. The POS keeps working offline and syncs the moment you reconnect.
Consolidation
Email/SMS (Klaviyo), WhatsApp (Wati/Interakt), loyalty (Smile/LoyaltyLion), reviews (Judge.me/Yotpo), subscriptions (Recharge), bundles, shipping (ShipStation/Shiprocket), helpdesk (Gorgias), invoices (Order Printer), wishlist, B2B, affiliates, calling (Aircall/Exotel), and AI shopping assistant (Zipchat/Rep AI) — a dozen-plus named tools across your stack.
No — nothing gets ripped out. Retail Commerce OS runs alongside your current tools from day one: connect Shopify, see your business in one place, and retire existing apps one at a time as renewals come up. Most merchants start with one module and expand at their own pace.
We help you import existing data, and the two-way Shopify sync keeps everything reconciled from day one.
Yes — and we encourage it if you have existing flows. Retail Commerce OS runs alongside Klaviyo from day one; both tools write to Shopify customer records, not each other. You can migrate your email/SMS at your own pace. If you want its events (orders, loyalty points, churn signals) to enrich your Klaviyo segments, enable Klaviyo Relay in workspace Settings → Integrations — it pushes identify and track events to Klaviyo in real time so your existing flows stay fed.
All of it. Export your complete workspace — products, orders, customers, inventory, loyalty balances, subscriptions, reviews, and helpdesk tickets — as JSON or CSV at any time from Settings → Export. The DPA also contractually commits us to returning all personal data in machine-readable format within 30 days of cancellation. We don't gate your data and we don't charge exit fees.
Onboarding & service
Because we set every workspace up by hand, and there are only so many of us. Retail Commerce OS is invite-only while we onboard our first wave of stores: you tell us about the business, and if you're a fit for the current wave we build the workspace ourselves — we migrate your products, customers and order history, configure outlets, staff roles and tax settings, connect and verify your Shopify sync — and hand it over on a call. You never start from an empty dashboard, and you get 60 days free with no card. We'd rather onboard a handful of stores properly each week than let a hundred sign up and stall. It opens up as we grow.
The product, and the setup. Founding-cohort stores get 60 days free with no card — full access, plus we migrate your data and configure the workspace with you before you log in. When the 60 days end you lock in founder pricing on whichever plan fits; the published prices are what you'd pay after, not what you pay to start. If you'd rather not move onto a paid plan, Lite stays free forever — a full single-store POS — so there is somewhere to land either way.
On Growth, Pro and Enterprise we commit to having your data migrated, your Shopify sync running clean, and your team actually working in Retail Commerce OS within 90 days of kickoff. If we miss it, you don't pay again until you're live — we credit your subscription every month until go-live is signed off. It asks three things of you: a named project owner, kickoff scheduled within 14 days of signup, and access to the data being migrated. We ask because stalled go-lives almost always stall on one of those three, not on the software.
Pro includes 4 hours a month of our engineering time; Enterprise includes 12. Spend them on anything inside Retail Commerce OS — bulk data imports, a custom report, invoice and print templates, setting up a new outlet, or chasing down a sync edge case. Unused hours roll over for 60 days, capped at twice your monthly allocation, so a quiet month isn't wasted. We'll tell you where your balance stands before you run out rather than after.
No — and we'd rather say so than sell you something we'd do badly. Retail Commerce OS is the back-office behind your storefront: your Shopify theme, its Liquid, and the other apps bolted onto it stay with you or your agency. Store engineering credits cover our side of that line — your data, your sync, your reports and documents, your workspace setup. If you want ongoing theme and storefront maintenance, keep the agency who does it today; they'll do it better than we would, and Retail Commerce OS runs alongside them without either side getting in the way.
Most single-store setups are live in days — we build the workspace for you before the handover call, so a small shop is usually selling on it the same week. The 90-day window in the guarantee is deliberately generous — it's sized for a multi-outlet or Shopify-connected move where you're migrating real history and retiring apps one at a time, not for a clean first install. On Pro and Enterprise our team runs the migration with you, starting with a sandbox on your real data so you can see the move before committing to it.
Security & data
Each workspace is a fully isolated tenant with strict boundaries enforced at every layer of the stack.
Yes — key actions across core modules are logged with user, IP and timestamp. Records are append-only by design; nothing in the product edits or deletes a written entry.
Granular role-based access control lets you define permissions down to the individual action with a full permission matrix.
Billing
Yes, no contracts. Cancel any time from Billing settings.
No — the Lite plan is free forever, no card. You keep a full single-store POS (GST billing, orders, inventory and CRM) for as long as you like. Founding-cohort stores start with 60 days free on whichever plan fits, and if you decide not to continue on a paid plan at the end of it, you drop to Lite rather than losing your data. Upgrade any time for marketing, WhatsApp, more outlets and the rest.
Yes — reach out via the contact page and we'll work something out.
Prices are shown exclusive of 18% GST, which is added at checkout as required in India. You get a GST invoice for every payment, so GST-registered businesses can claim input tax credit.
Monthly plans can be cancelled any time and simply stop at the end of the current cycle — no lock-in. Annual plans are non-refundable once started, but you keep access for the full term you paid for. See our Terms for details.
Payments are processed by Razorpay — pay by UPI, card or netbanking. You can set up autopay so your subscription renews automatically; monthly renewals under ₹15,000 renew without needing an OTP each time.
