Do you still need Klaviyo? Rethinking marketing for consolidated stores
Klaviyo and tools like it exist because commerce platforms historically didn't do marketing well. But if your back-office now runs campaigns and flows on the same database as your orders, the calculus changes.
What you gain by consolidating marketing
Segments built on live order and inventory data, not a synced copy that lags behind reality.
Flows triggered by real events — a refund, a back-in-stock, a first purchase — without an integration in between.
When a standalone tool still wins
If you need very advanced deliverability tooling or a specific niche integration, a dedicated platform may still fit.
For most brands, though, 'good email built into the system of record' beats 'great email in a separate silo'.
